Pharmacy automation leader awarded firm‐fixed‐price, IDIQ contract for all U.S. military service branches
Innovation, makers of PharmASSIST® pharmacy automation solutions, today announced that the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded the company a contract with the potential of up to $450 million over 10 years. The contract authorizes Innovation to supply automated pharmaceutical systems and related accessories to the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines, as well as to federal civilian agencies.
DLA received 36 responses for the firm‐fixed‐price, indefinite‐delivery/indefinite‐quantity (IDIQ) contract via a competitive acquisition process, the Department of Defense said. The U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines as well as federal civilian agencies can procure equipment and support through the IDIQ, which has five base years, plus one five-year option. Innovation will also provide training and maintenance services to government customers authorized to place orders under the Patient Monitoring and Capital Equipment Program.
“We’re extremely pleased with being selecting by the DLA for this important contract. The IDIQ provides the government with a straightforward and efficient process to purchase our equipment and services through their respective procurement channels,” said Phil Samples, vice president, professional & government services, Innovation.
Innovation has been the long-time pharmacy automation partner of the U.S. Air Force for all Air Force base pharmacies worldwide and regional refill centers in the U.S. The company was first selected for their pharmacy automation and services in a competitive acquisition process in 2001.
